Treasuring something have no requirements. Old or new, expensive or cheap, nice or very nice, all of these would not matter. As long as it can recall the old memories of your loved ones, it can really be treasured.
Way back 8 years ago, I asked my mother what to wear during our holy mass at school, then she told me to borrow from my cousin because it is very expensive to buy a new one. I cried, and even told myself not to attend the mass the following day because I want a new dress. Right after taking our lunch, my mom lended me a simple white dress with glittering beads attached on it and told me the story behind it. Then afterwards, I felt the excitement of wearing the dress. Not because it is new, expensive and beautiful, but because my grandmother sewed it for me when I was in kinder (Btw, she's a dressmaker on her own dressmaking shop). I really tried to fit it, but unfornutaley I can't. That's why instead of forcing myself, I just kept the dress on my trunk. And unkowingly, I found myself reminiscing those times we had with my lola. Keeping the dress is like keeping our memories.
It's not the quality or physical appearance that matters, it's the 'Sentimental Value'. :)
